Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all staying safe and well.

I wanted to update you on a few of our ongoing social ministry efforts and seek some volunteers.

October 18th – We would like to have a Soup and Chili sale and I need volunteers to make soup. Please let me know if you are willing and I will make sure that you get soup containers to package your soup. We will sell it after church that Sunday and we may even set up a curbside pickup for others that can’t attend church in person.

October 24th – We are going to hold a “socially-distanced” Halloween Hunt for the Community from 11:00am-12:00pm on the front lawn of the church. We will provide wrapped candy and some toys for the kids to find on the lawn (much like an Easter egg hunt). If you are able to purchase wrapped candy or donate money for someone else to shop, please let me know. I would also appreciate a few volunteers that day. We will be wearing masks and distancing and will be instructing the community to do so as well.

In November, we will be having a Food Collection and will be reaching out to Mt. Zion food pantry to see what items they are most in need of, and we’ll let you know what our weekly lists will be sometime soon. If you are still worshipping remotely, we will create a drop off time for food to be delivered to the church. I am also happy to pick up if you don’t venture out just yet.

Remember, we are still making face masks, and we are collecting donations on our website for flood victims.   Be well, Kim McCombs Social Ministry Committee
